In April of 2005 I was waiting outside the Los Angeles County courtroom for my divorce & child custody case to be heard.. The attorney that I had hired told me she was unable to continue with my case due to my lack of funds & she was certain my husband would continue to litigate & as she told me, "he would rather light a match to a pile of money than pay me". I didn't have the money to pay another attorney & was terrified to go into that courtroom alone and face my husband who is a criminal attorney, and his seasoned divorce attorney.

I met Barry as he struck up a conversation with me. When I told him my situation, he offered to represent me with the understanding that he would receive payment when the case was completed.
